Who is responsible

This website is run by Samama Tahir, a freelance web developer based in Porto, Portugal. I am the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach me at hello@samamatahir.com or +351 932 426 753.

The contact form

When you send a message through the contact form, I receive your name, email address, website (if you add one) and your message. The form is delivered by Web3Forms, which forwards it to my email inbox.

I use this information only to reply to you and, if we work together, to run the project. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and my legitimate interest in answering enquiries. I keep these emails for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any project that follows, and delete them when they are no longer needed.

Email, phone and WhatsApp

If you contact me directly by email, phone or WhatsApp, I receive whatever details you share in that conversation and use them in the same way as form messages. WhatsApp is run by Meta and has its own privacy policy.

Analytics cookies (only with your consent)

With your permission, this site uses two analytics tools to see how visitors use it, so I can improve it:

• Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) measures visits, pages viewed and general location. Cookies: _ga and _ga_YJFSYZGMZ0, kept for up to 2 years.
• Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland) records anonymised page interactions such as clicks and scrolling, and shows heatmaps. Cookies include _clck (up to 1 year) and _clsk (1 day).

These tools only run after you click Accept in the cookie banner. If you decline, Clarity is not loaded and Google Analytics sets no cookies. You can change your choice at any time with the cookie settings link, which also appears in the footer of every page. The legal basis is your consent.

Embedded YouTube videos

Videos on this site use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and only load when you click play. Once a video plays, Google may set cookies and collect data under Google's privacy policy.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like any web server, it processes technical data such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. Fonts and images are served from this site's own server, not from third-party font services.

Transfers outside the EU

Google and Microsoft may process data in the United States. Both take part in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as providing adequate protection.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, restrict or object to how it is used, and receive a copy of it. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email hello@samamatahir.com.

You can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
